Copmanhurst Trip

Postby squidgie » Fri Aug 10, 2012 7:12 pm

[color=#000080]We discussed at last meeting about a day trip or weekend in October be it the 2nd or 3rd weekend, Copmanhurst is near Grafton and some club members have fished it, so this will come up at next meeting so we need you all there to make it happen

Copmanhurst is a village on the Clarence River in northeast New South Wales. Its closest capital city is actually Brisbane in Queensland about 240km to the north (the capital of New South Wales is Sydney, about 500km away to the south-southwest of Copmanhurst). With a population of around 210, Copmanhurst is one of the smaller towns in Australia. Copmanhurst is at an elevation of approximately 28m above sea level.

The nearest more populous place is the village of Waterview Heights which is 14km away with a population of around 800

Bonzle users have said that the facilities at Copmanhurst include a cricket pitch, police station, primary school, showground and tennis courts.

Also we will be discussing club outings to be held at the beginning of the month first weekend and alternate days say first one Sat next one Sunday these are not comps these are family orientated days were we can all get together and fish and put a bit of rubbish on each other bantering is good <: <: think it is a great idea to get all involved in club activities

Cheers squidgie

Here is the directions for your bass get away for the 27-28th October.
There is ample room for camping avaible on the property with a pit toilet and a large under cover area on site.
There is a boat ramp at O'Grady's but it is more suited to 4x4. Boats have bee launched with cars there as well so please don't let this deture you from launching your boat here. If you don't own a four wheel drive there are enough club members with fourbies to help anybody put their boats in.
My suggestion to all glass boat owners ,myself included, when finished for the day fishing trailer your boat as there is little sand on the banks. There are also on the weekends ski and wake boats that pass by from time to time so if its off the water it will be safe from a wave bashing.
How to get there---Travel out the Gwider Hwy and take the Rogans Bridge Rd on the right. Stay on this road for 6km. Take a right on to the Seelands Hall Rd and carry on for 3.6km. When you get to the Ski lodge turn off stay left on Seelands Hall Rd. A few ks down the road you will have a left turn at 90 degrees which you will follow to the very end where the property gate will be sign posted. Drive down to the house and turn left just befor the house near the power pole and you will see the camp near the river.
We are going to put signs up to mark the way so keep an eye out for those. They are black and white signs that read CVSFC , BASS. Just follow these and Bob's your uncle.
