Aussies & marine research: survey & $2,000 prize draw

Hi North Coast fishermen and women,

A quick note to let you know about the Marine ExChanges national survey, which is CLOSING this coming Monday 20th April (at midnight).

It's your chance to have your say about public involvement in marine research (would you get involve? why or why not?). ALL opinions are needed and welcome, and responses will be anonymous. And you'll go into the draw for some of $2,000 worth of marine prizes, including:

• a GME personal locator beacon,
• a GME marine multimedia sound system for iPhone or iPod,
• 3 x GME Sound Safe devices,
• a Shimano 3 piece Raider rod and a Shimano Symetre 4000 reel,
• an Aqua Ranger sea scooter, from Underwater Australasia,
• a couple of dives (all gear included) from Sundive, Byron Bay,
• Mares mask and snorkel kits, and

This project is being run by me (Vicki Martin) - a student at the uni in Lismore. Some of you helped me understand the issues and develop the questions for the survey by doing interviews with me last year - thank you!

The survey is open to any Aussies who use the marine environment and are 15 years old or over. I'd love to get a few more anglers in the survey - we've almost got 1,000 completed so far.
