PB Flatty

Not sure if this one counts as a live bait catch or lure caught let me know.
I was fishing some weedbeds near the mouth of the Tweed having a ball catch smallish bream on 3lb braid with 4lb leader, I was twitching a Tiemco Stick minnow over top of the weed and the bream were just smashing it I was getting a fish a cast not big but fun on light gear with a light drag. The water was fairly clear as I was fishing the run in what I saw next really got the ticker going. A smallish bream whacked the stick minnow about 3 mtrs from the boat the up from the bottom about 1.5mtrs of water came this little croc that ate the bream, it amazing to watch. So for the next 15 minutes I chased this flatty around with the electric and a very light drag finally she came within net shot, on closer inspection she had spat the bream and had the stick minnow caught way down her throat I dont know how that 4 lb leader held. A quick couple of snaps on the mat, then I swam her next to the boat for a bit before she swam off strongly into the depths.
Photos are a bit ordinary forgot the camera and only had the phone.

Not a bad lizard Mr Rocket, I have heard of similar captures and near misses in similar situations.
Next time the lizard will eat the lure and not the bream.

If you like the Stick Minnows have you tried the Maria Code Blue's ?

Nip. ;-)

Thanks Guys
Toga, I love the stick minnows they are so versatile. The brown colour is really hard to get I only have one of that colour at the moment, Today I was using colour no1 wich I found to be really good, They also have a few new colours just released opaque white with a red head wich was also working well today and was the one that scored the bream/flatty. I got my last lot from a mob in Melbourne Aussieangler.com.au only because I was having trouble getting any locally.
Nipper I havent heard of Maria Code Blue's but I will check them out.
I found tt surface pencils with some sticky lead on their belly work ok and Bassday Sugar Lipless Minnows are good as well.

Top effort to coax her in on the light gear. So lucky to get her on 4lb line. She must have left her teeth in the glass jar beside the weed bed. <:

Scrote. With this dirty water have you got room for all of us at your last winning spots ? :/: :/: :/: :/: :/: :/: :/: :/: :/:

Nice work to land it on 4lb. I had a big Jack come up and try and eat a bream like that once.

Was playing in a bonito this morning and a big flatty came up and ate it. Swam around with it for a while then spat it out leaving some serious teeth marks.

it must be that time of the year,i had a 24-25cm bream on the other day and a monster lizzard with a mouth big enough to fit the entire bream in it ate the fish then sawed me off and swam away with the fish and my bloody lure. "":( "":( "":(
