Ant,
Awsome native fish there, where did you catch it, in an impoundment or in a river?
Nip.
Having fun fishing is half the fun and half the fun is all the fun there is

"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "...holy cow...what a ride!"

I got the big fella at Copeton Dam fishing with a mate of mine. He dropped a even bigger one earlier in the morning.

I got her on a fluro yellow 3/8th jighead attatched to a large heeler blade with a 120mm Squidge flikbait in TNT colour. It was the same rig I used to get my 93cm before. I used my barra gear( to lazy to change it over) 50lb Finns with 60lb BlackMagic Flurocarbon. Mates of mine use normaly 30lb mono because of the granite rocks and large spinnerbaits and big Mudeye lures.

I haven't chased cod since we bought the house at Yamba but found the black and purple 3/8 oz Ausspin tandem with a stinger hook and wriggle tail very effective in the river here locally. I will have to get off my arse and chase a few when the weather warms up. I have caught some nice ones in Pindari Dam mostly on various hard bodies. I have attached a couple of pics for you. The one the young bloke is holding I caught on my bass gear chasing yellows and was 100cm. The other I never measured just a quick and gave it the Rex hunt treatment.

There great fish. The big green fella's look fantastic when you pull them up out of the deep. Growing up in Inverell I used to fish the Severn alot with my mates. Its up there with one of the best cod rivers in NSW.
