Sunday Bets Spin Bass Sesh

Postby pink nipper » Sun Feb 10, 2013 7:58 pm

Had the pleasure of taking the family around
to say hello to Prof's baby daughter after lunch
today. Managed to escape with Prof for a couple of
hours for a short landbased bass session. :/:

The tide was going out, there were new snags, it was
a bright sunny afternoon with no mosquitoes and the
water was clean. :fish:

With the hardbodies not getting any hits we turned
to grubs on bets spins just for something different.

First cast produced a 42cm model after a bit of fancy
net work from Prof. The rest of the session produced
another three fish, an early release and a some follows
before time ran out. :fishing:

Note to self...stop loosing expensive hardbodies to snags
and trees, go back to jigheads under bet spins and do some
pink grubbin' during the middle of the day when things seem
shutdown.

Nip. : winky:

You certainly nailed them today mate, well done !!  :funfish: :funfish:

As Nipper said there is a few new snags thanks to those storms the other week, will be interesting to see how the flow changes and there will be alot more lures getting lost in amongst the timber??

Most of the bass were hitting hard, well Nippers lures anyway as I ended up with a 000 , I did manage a few follows right up to the bank, and one take that had the fish out of the water but I pulled too hard and lost it!! :shithits: :shithits:

Was good to catch up Nip, I'll have to pull my finger out next time we have a landbased bash!! :/: :/:

Cheers :glug: :glug: :glug:

The old betspin and grub is one of the most under rated lures getting around. : winky:

Great fish there Nipper ':' ':' .. don't see too many over 40's coming out of the local. I'd rather throw a beetle spin than a spinnerbait if I can get away with it ... love using a grass minnow on the jighead of the beetlespin
Cheers 'Toga ... Steve

Went to see if the bass were still biting this morning.
They were still on the chew and willing to take hardbodies
as well as the bet spins. :fish:

Almost managed to free net a carp too but it managed to
flip out of the net bankside and roll back into the wtaer.
It was vivid orange in colour and weighed around 10lbs...spewing.

Toga,

I free netted it. Saw it come to the bank feeding under my feet so just
picked up the landing net and scooped it up. Unfortunately it
went in tail first and when I was trying to drag it up the bank
it wriggled out down the bank and was gone...next time :fish:
