Mangrove jack in Clarrie Hall Dam ??
Mangrove jack in Clarrie Hall Dam ??
I personally think it is a crazy idea,
although it's a great sports fish (of which I'm yet to catch ??) I think it would totally decimate the native species and upset the whole ecology of the dam??
What are your thoughts on this ??
Here's a link to the article....

so the bass are living the easy life up there at the moment.
I think if they stock jack they should make sure there is enough bait
species in the dam to support the jacks otherwise every time bass
fingerlings are released in the dam they will become jack fodder.

They probably would survive. There's a breeding population of barra on the Gold Coast now thanks to the midnight stocking brigade, I can't imagine that the water temps would be that significantly different just south of the border. Captures of barra are pretty common up there and I've seen it with my own eyes
